Eddie Stobart saw its e-commerce turnover more than double last year after it began eight new contracts off the back of its iForce acquisition. Stobart Group has taken delivery of two Iveco Ecostralis units as part of a three-year trial. The vehicles’ performance will be monitored in upcoming months as the pair operate from its depot in Carlisle. The trucks, named Sophie and Lynda Dawn, are expecting to remain in the fleet for three years running some 160,000km a year. The Unite union has accused Tesco of getting Stobart Group “to do its dirty work” for it, after the 183 drivers based at the operator’s Doncaster DC were told they faced possible redundancy.
