Iveco has supplied three Daily Natural Power vans to waste management company Veolia that will carry specialist equipment for removing graffiti.

The vehicles, from Dunstable-based Iveco dealer Northern Commercials, will be used as part of a new contract with the London Borough of Camden.

They will refuel from Veolia’s brand new compressed natural gas (CNG) refuelling station at its Alperton depot, built to service all the CNG vehicles in the Camden fleet.

The Daily Natural Power, driven by a 3-litre natural gas engine, produces 136hp.

It does not require AdBlue, a particulate filter or exhaust gas recirculation and needs no after-treatment system maintenance.

According to Iveco the vans are about 50% quieter than their diesel equivalents, with fuel costs approximately 20% lower t00.

Andrew Hope, fleet development manager at Veolia, said: “Emissions reduction was a critical factor in Veolia’s decision making for this vehicle so the availability of a cost-effective CNG engine made the Daily our first choice when specifying the panel van.

“The team at Northern Commercials were great to work with and Iveco built the vehicles within the required time frame.”
