UPS’s UK business recorded “modest growth” last year in both turnover and pre-tax profit, with revenue rises largely driven by its European and international businesses. Turnover rose 8.7% to £944.9m in the year to 31 December 2016 (2015: £869.1m), with pre-tax profit up 6.9% to £62.3m (2015: £58.3m). Former TNT Express chairman and chief executive Marie-Christine Lombard has taken up the position of chief executive of Geodis. Having left the parcel firm last month, Lombard will take up the position vacated by former chief executive Jean-Louis Demeulenaere.
