The European Commission (EC) has hit Scania with a €881m (£771m) fine after concluding that it broke EU antitrust rules. It means the commission has now levied fines approaching €3.8bn collectively against Europe’s major truck manufacturers. Norbert Dentressangle and the UK arm of customer Mitsubishi Electric Europe have jointly purchased a Daf LF Hybrid. The 12-tonne diesel/electric hybrid has joined the operator’s dedicated distribution fleet, which moves large industrial air conditioning units, Ecodan heating systems, spare parts and instruction manuals, for Mitsubishi Electric Europe. Yorkshire-based frozen food logistics firm Reed Boardall Group has taken delivery of 50 new trucks – all Volvo FH 6x2s with the Euro-5 D13C 500hp engine and Globetrotter cabs – as part of its regular fleet renewal programme.
