Scania is to appeal today’s €881m (£771m) fine from the European Commission (EC) over price-fixing, after refuting the findings. North West Logistics, which recently superseded the Ainsworth & Martin name, has taken delivery of eleven new trailers featuring its updated group livery.
UPS and TNT Express have submitted remedies to the European Commission to address its competition concerns, extending the review period further. The submission extends the EC’s review period by 15 business days to 5 February 2013. The proposed remedies involve the sale of the business activities and its assets. Norbert Dentressangle (ND) says it has invested more than £1m in a new shared-user site at Rugby, to serve as an NDC for Continental Tyre Group. The new 212,000ft² facility, located in Prologis Central Park just off J1 of the M6, will also store products from fellow ND customer Bridgestone UK, which currently occupies around 60% of the available capacity.
