XPO Logistics has promoted its MD of European supply chain to the role of European CEO. Malcolm Wilson replaces Troy Cooper. Cooper had held the role since XPO bought Norbert Dentressangle in 2015, as well as his position as global chief operating officer (COO). Cooper continues in the global COO role. Clipper Logistics faces “minimal” financial hit on Arcadia contract and no job losses, industry sources say
Clipper Logistics is set to transfer around 70 drivers on its Arcadia delivery partnership to other contracts and will lose “minimal” amounts on the deal, following the retail giant’s collapse, motortransport.co.uk has learnt.
The UK division of XPO Logistics Europe, formerly Norbert Dentressangle, will “ramp up” even further in 2016, after “strong demand” saw turnover rise 16% year-on-year.
It has emerged that Norbert Dentressangle, taken over last month by US firm XPO Logistics, was ordered in March to pay a former employee more than £8,000 for unfair dismissal, after sacking him last year for what his employer deemed was a sexually suggestive picture posted on his Facebook page.
