CM Downton has renewed its contract with paper and engineering specialist Glatfelter, continuing a relationship that started in the 1990s.

Downton manages all aspects of Glatfelter's operations, including warehousing of raw materials and finished goods and delivery to manufacturing plants and distribution of products across the UK. Though Downton manages the whole operation, it's divided into separate contracts.

The division of the business that's been renewed is for the transportation of the paper reels used to produce tea bags and coffee filters.

Downton transports the palletised reels from plants in Gloucester and South Wales to producers of beverages across the UK.

David Hutchings, head of business development at CM Downton, said: “We have a long-term relationship with Glatfelter and have been managing various aspects of their logistics operations for many years. This latest contract renewal shows that our partnership approach provides stability for our customers and helps them improve their supply chain activities and achieve their business objectives.”
