Revolution not evolution is needed when it comes to safety throughout the supply chain, according to Clocs project director Derek Rees.

Speaking ahead of the Clocs Exhibition at London’s Excel on 14 March, Rees said the scheme had made great strides in a short time but the partnership wants to achieve more.

Rees urged operators to challenge clients to sign up to Clocs, which is approaching 400 champions. “Some of them have challenged and have been proactive rather than passive,” said Rees.

“And it is important as that’s how the scheme’s adoption will become universal and happen quickly.

“We’re not there yet and that’s why I want a revolution, not an evolution.”

The main HGV manufacturers will be at this year’s expo and some will demonstrate their response to the Direct Vision Standard proposed last year by London mayor Sadiq Khan.
