Ofcom has ruled that in order to maintain competition in the parcels sector, the cap on Royal Mail’s second-class stamp parcel service must remain. The government has confirmed it will sell shares in Royal Mail on the London Stock Exchange in the next few weeks.
Growth in parcels revenue failed to offset the continuing decline in letter volumes in the first nine months of its financial year, Royal Mail said today.
