Cartwright the first choice for Fly By Nite

Fly By Nite is continuing to boost its fleet, ordering 16 new trailers from Cartwright.

The Redditch-based events haulage company, whose customers include Madonna, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, has seen business grow rapidly over the past few years as falling album sales have driven bands to tour more frequently.

Fly By Nite has purchased a total of 30 trailers since it switched to Cartwright four years ago. This latest order sees the firm take delivery of 16 Cartwright triaxle box van trailers.

The fully skirted trailers come with ramp carriers and are illuminated with LEDs to allow efficient loading and unloading at night.

The trailer interiors also have white walls to make the inside of the trailers as light as possible.

Fly By Nite operates a fleet of 120 trucks and 120 trailers from its eight-acre site, which includes 4,100 sq metre of temperature controlled warehouse facilities.

The firm, which was established 25 years ago, operates across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and employs around 150 drivers.

Richard Brown, Fly By Nite transport manager, told Motortransport.co.uk that the company is planning to renew some of its fleet of Volvo and Daf trucks later this year.

He praised Cartwright’s build quality, adding: “The trailers are fantastic and we have had no problems whatsoever.

“We have been in an expanding market because, with the decline in record sales, bands need to tour in order to make money.

“We obviously need to have top quality equipment to carry expensive kit for some of the world’s most famous names and we get a fantastic service and product from Cartwright to meet our needs.”
