Stobart Microlise

Eddie Stobart is rolling out Microlise systems across its fleet of more then 2,000 vehicles, after a “detailed evaluation” of the new system against its predecessor.

Stobart will use Microlise’s Fleet Performance and Journey Management system under the name of Eddie Stobart Link.

Planned vs actual route planning and easy access to driver performance management data are among the key features of Stobart’s package.

The Microlise rollout will also see seven-inch Eddie Stobart branded tablets installed in all of its cabs, which will give drivers vehicle-specific maps as well as messaging and journey information features.

The telematics outfit won the contract after a “detailed evaluation” of the software compared to Stobart’s former system, as well as “extensive negotiations” between the businesses.

Eddie Stobart chief information officer John Court, said: “Despite challenging market conditions, we are continuing to grow our business and see investment in new technology as key to supporting our plans.

“Through Eddie Stobart Link we will be right at the cutting edge of technology for our sector and continue to set the standards that others then undoubtedly follow.”

Microlise chief executive Nadeem Raza added: “Everyone in the country knows the Eddie Stobart brand – to many outside of the industry it embodies transport.

“It’s a privilege to be working with the team to refresh and upgrade their transport management infrastructure and we look forward to helping them to make a quick return on investment and boost their service offering.”

John Court will be speaking at the Microlise Transport Conference, on Wednesday 17 May at The Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Register for your free place now.
