Widdowson Logistics, part of the Davis Haulage Group, has entered administration once again. The move came a month after stablemate Davis Haulage, which was subject to a company voluntary arrangement, also appointed administrators and was subsequently purchased by Buffaload Logistics. Creditors of collapsed parcel firm City Link are likely to receive just 1p for every pound they are owed, according to the company’s administrator.
Almtone-owned Canute Group has narrowly avoided being wound up by HMRC after the taxman raised a petition against it. This came as the amount the firm owed to creditors ballooned to more than £135,000.
City Link’s administrator has revised up the amount it believes non-preferential creditors are owed by the collapsed parcel carrier. However, it said it is still waiting to hear from creditors that are owed a total of £12.8m that have not submitted a claim.
