Fred Sherwood & Sons (Transport) saw pre-tax profit fall 18% last year with turnover also declining by 5% in the period. Global group Gefco, which owns Gefco UK, saw revenues fall by almost a fifth last year after Covid-19 forced the closure of its customers’ car manufacturing plants.
Express parcels and mail provider UK Mail Group says it is taking action to plug the gaps in its pallet distribution business UK Pallets. It reported a significant decline in operating profit from this division during the first six months of the financial year. Fakenham, Norfolk haulier Jack Richards & Son has reported a 56% rise in pre-tax profit, and £2.3m rise in turnover, for the year ending 31 May 2012.
