Wholesaler JJ Food Service has added 20 Isuzu rigids to its fleet as it expands to new UK locations.
The 7.5-tonne Isuzu Forwards are all fitted with Carrier Transicold Xarios refrigeration units, and will be predominantly used to transport frozen goods to JJ Food Service’s customers.
These include restaurants, hotels and schools, among others.
The purchase brings JJ’s fleet up to 160 vehicles, and will be used to bolster its operation as it moves to new facilities this year in Dagenham, Leicester and Newcastle.
JJ Food Service said it hopes to run the vehicles, which are fitted with Paneltex bodies, for five years.
Mickey Montague, chief transport officer, added that the Carrier Transicold units are the “workhorse” of the company’s fleet.
He said: “Carrier Transicold will remain our preferred supplier as the fleet grows to match this increased workload, thanks in no small part to our long and productive working relationship with the company.
“The company’s systems are the reliable workhorse of our fleet. They’re easy to operate, dependable, and ideally suited to the urban multi-drop nature of our work.”
