UPS has acquired specialist international and temperature-controlled load broker Freightex for an undisclosed sum, and will merge it with Coyote Logistics – a similar business in North America that UPS acquired in August 2015. UPS is buying Irish express delivery and logistics firm Nightline Logistics Group for an undisclosed sum.
TNT Express chief executive Marie-Christine Lombard has resigned, ahead of the parcel company’s acquisition by UPS. Chief financial officer (CFO) Bernard Bot will take over her position as interim CEO at the end of September, when Lombard leaves the company to pursue another career. “It is regrettable that Marie-Christine has decided to leave TNT Express now.
