DPDgroup has increased its majority shareholding in e-commerce delivery company WnDirect to 83%, effectively taking full control of the business. The two companies have been working together for a number of years and said the deal would support international expansion of WnDirect. Eddie Stobart Logistics has seen its group turnover surge by more than a third thanks to a shopping spree that has seen it buy iForce, half of Speedy Freight and The Pallet Network (TPN).
Parcel carrier DPD has revealed plans to invest £3.7m in four new depots in Smethwick; Sheffield; Snetterton, Norfolk and Billingham, Teesside as part of its £175m strategy to handle increased volumes.
