Palletforce members EDS Couriers, Stones Distribution and Griffins Logistics have all expanded their depot facilities.
Cannock-based EDS Couriers has relocated to a 2.5 acre depot after a £3m investment in new premises and equipment, which includes a £194,000 purpose-built canopy to house Palletforce trucks.
Griffins Logistics has also expanded its premises with an additional site at its Tuxford base, while Hoddeston-based Stones Distribution has opened a new depot in Enfield – giving Palletforce enhanced coverage across north London.
Palletforce CEO Michael Conroy said the collective expansion would make a “significant contribution” to the growth of the Palletforce network.
It comes ahead of the network’s plan to open a new £50m central "super hub" next year.
Conroy added: “Palletforce is going through a period of significant growth, and it is therefore essential that we continue to invest to ensure the network is sufficiently robust to match expectations and challenges in the future.
“The strength of the network is down to the quality of its members, which is why it is extremely encouraging that EDS, Stones and Griffins have chosen this time to invest in their own operations.”
Speaking about the company’s recent £3m expansion, EDS Couriers (pictured) MD Andy Evans said: “The upheaval has been a challenge, but our team has pulled together to make it a success.
"We now look forward to reaping the benefits the far superior premises and Palletforce distribution centre will bring.”
