Gefco has signed an €8bn (£7.15bn) exclusivity deal with former parent company PSA Peugeot Citroën, which will see it manage the company’s entire global supply chain. The five-year deal will commence on 1 January 2017. Gefco, the logistics arm of PSA Group, saw its global revenue rise 12.9% in 2011 as it prepares to embark on what it describes as a “decisive year” for the company. For 2011 Gefco reported global revenue of €3.8bn, compared to €3.4bn a year ago, and an operating income of €223m (2010: €198m). Excluding its PSA business, revenue was up 19.2% to €1.4bn. Gefco UK has renewed its three year contract with Honda Motor Europe Logistics, the sister arm of Honda.
German automotive product supplier Brose has extended its contract with Gefco by three years. The new part of the contract will see Gefco deliver products from Brose’s production site in Coventry to one of its customers in Redditch. The original contract, held since 2005, already sees Gefco deliver vehicle seat frames to its Coventry site.
