Bartrums has posted a combined turnover of £26.7m for its road services and haulage and storage arms, down on the previous year’s results, but pre-tax profit showed an improvement. For the year ending 31 December 2015, the Eye, Suffolk, business made a total pre-tax profit of £1.8m, up 8.5% on 2014. Clipper Logistics almost broke the £200m turnover barrier in its most recent results, covering the six months ended 31 October.
Strong growth in its logistics division helped offset declining revenues from transport at Norbert Dentressangle last year, leaving the firm’s turnover almost 4% up with a fractional increase in profitability.
