Royal Mail managers have voted to accept an increased pay offer, resolving a conflict that saw 4,800 of the carrier’s employees take industrial action earlier this year. Royal Mail managers are to increase the level of industrial action being taken over a long-running pay dispute.
Royal Mail is reviewing the need for its mail distribution centre in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, but does not expect the decision to affect the vehicle operating centre at the same site.
Proposals for an independent Scotland include a promise to renationalise the Royal Mail, examine a fuel duty regulator and streamline government services including Vosa.
