Fuel distributors and the Unite union are poised for a fourth day of negotiations over tanker drivers’ training, safety and employment terms. Wincanton has been forced to make redundancies to offset falling profit in its Industrial and Transport division.
Wincanton says it is “extremely disappointed” that Unite failed to persuade its tanker driver members to accept proposals put forward over terms and conditions after six days of talks at conciliation service Acas.
