SamworthBrothers

Own-account operator Samworth Brothers Supply Chain has taken its first ever Volvos in the form of 35 FH trucks.

The supply chain business has a 100-strong fleet and is the distribution arm of Samworth Brothers, which owns brands such as Ginsters and Soreen.

The order comprised 34 FH-460 6x2 tractor units, plus a white liveried FH-500 training vehicle for the operator's driver academy, equipped with I-Shift dual-clutch and extra seats.

All the new trucks, which are replacement fleet vehicles, will be maintained in-house by the operator’s Supply Chain Vehicle Maintenance Unit at Leicester.

Support is provided by Volvo Truck and Bus East Anglia’s dealerpoint at Bardon, which was also involved in the training and handover process.
