John Jempson and Son saw profit more than double in 2015 boosted by the sale of its Palletforce shares. Palletforce was acquired by EmergeVest in a £30m deal last August, which saw the pallet network’s haulier members sell their shares as part of the change in ownership. NFT owner EmergeVest had made a £30m bid for pallet network Palletforce.
Having achieved record volume last year 2013 is set to be another record breaker, with the UK’s nine pallet networks on course to handle the most pallets through their systems that they have ever done since the launch of the concept two decades ago.
Industry-wide pallet weight limits are more relevant to pallet networks than large operators, according to XPO Logistics MD of transport solutions Dan Myers.
