Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity in the transport sector throughout the world is predicted to rise for the fourth consecutive year, according to a report from KPMG. The analysis predicts the amount raised by completed M&A transactions this year will exceed £52bn, surpassing last year’s figure of £48bn. Norbert Dentressangle has signed a four-year contract with the Highways Agency to store and distribute emergency salt for Britain’s roads. The firm is one of five companies responsible for procuring, storing and distributing road salt to the Highways Agency’s service providers across the country. The contract runs until 2016 and builds on ND’s existing relationship with the Highways Agency.
