Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity in the transport sector throughout the world is predicted to rise for the fourth consecutive year, according to a report from KPMG. The analysis predicts the amount raised by completed M&A transactions this year will exceed £52bn, surpassing last year’s figure of £48bn. Norbert Dentressangle and the UK arm of customer Mitsubishi Electric Europe have jointly purchased a Daf LF Hybrid. The 12-tonne diesel/electric hybrid has joined the operator’s dedicated distribution fleet, which moves large industrial air conditioning units, Ecodan heating systems, spare parts and instruction manuals, for Mitsubishi Electric Europe. Norbert Dentressangle has handled UK distribution for the manufacturer since 2008, and typically handles 300 orders per day with a mix of vehicles from 7.5-tonne to 18-tonne delivering the palletised goods.
