Expanding the range of services it offers to its customers saw NR Evans’ turnover and pre-tax profit soar in the last financial year. The company, which offers both haulage and warehousing services, made £2.4m pre-tax profit for the year ended 31 August 2015; a 58% increase on the previous year’s £1.5m. Rising driver wages and greater use of agency staff to combat recruitment difficulties contributed to a second year of reduced profit for Felixstowe-based container haulier James Kemball.
Thanks to the generosity of the 1,600 guests at the Motor Transport Awards held on 6 July – and some superb prizes donated by sponsors – international road safety charity Transaid raised over £17,000 to support its work saving lives in Africa.
