Whistl has signed a seven year contract with pension and asset management company Aegon. The former TNT Post will collect, sort and transport 10 million items of post for Edinburgh-based Aegon every week. The operation will be fulfilled at the company’s new Tannochside sorting depot, which opened last year. Whistl saw its pre-tax profit crash by more than 400% last year after ending its foray into the final mile delivery market, but predicts it will have recovered by the end of 2016.
UK Mail saw its profit tumble by more than 80% in the six months ending 30 September 2015, after its relocation to a new hub and “teething issues” with the facility’s technology.
