United Biscuits has taken delivery of 20 tri-axle longer semi-trailers from Cartwright. The own-account operator, known for brands such as KP Nuts, Jaffa Cakes and McVities, is running the 15.6m curtainsiders from its DC in Ashby de la Zouche, Leicestershire. The rear command-steer trailers are painted in six different liveries and have insulated load bearing curtains to protect their chocolate products. Biscuit and cake manufacturer United Biscuits has estimated it will save 450,000 truck miles and reduce carbon emissions by 618 tonnes a year after extending the number of longer semi-trailers it runs from 20 to 62.
All 68 drivers at United Biscuits have now successfully completed their final 7.5 hours of Driver CPC training.
