Hermes has spent £18m on handheld technology to improve its customers’ experience. The 20,000 devices, which will all be in operation by the summer with couriers and in myHermes parcel shops, have improved GPS tracking technology. CollectPlus is opening a Parcel Point operation at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, enabling customers to drop-off packages and collect online purchases while shopping.
