Mobile elevated-platform supplier Lavendon Group, which trades as Nationwide Platforms, has terminated its five-year delivery and collection contract with Wincanton a year after it outsourced transport to the 3PL. The contract, inked in November 2014, will be wound up by March of this year with the service returning in-house. Wincanton has won a contract with homeware retailer Williams-Sonoma, which is launching in the UK this month.
Wincanton revealed in a trading statement today that the plummeting cost of fuel has had “no material impact” on its bottom line, adding that the business continued to trade in line with expectations.
Wincanton has moved to a new Southampton site to increase the work it does at the city’s port.
