Wincanton has signed a ‘sweet’ new contract with British Sugar, the company responsible for around half of the UK’s sugar. Under the new three-year deal, Wincanton will transport 275,000 tonnes of sugar every year, predominantly from British Sugar’s Wissington base to locations across the UK. Wincanton is set to offer its customers a wider choice of delivery options after forging a partnership with technology provider Sorted.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster start,” James Wroath laughs, as he begins describing his first five months as chief executive of Wincanton.
Wincanton has been awarded a five year contract expansion with Morrisons, handling the logistics for its convenience stores in the North.
