Wincanton has signed a ‘sweet’ new contract with British Sugar, the company responsible for around half of the UK’s sugar. Under the new three-year deal, Wincanton will transport 275,000 tonnes of sugar every year, predominantly from British Sugar’s Wissington base to locations across the UK. TNT Express has seen a drop in both turnover and operating profit, following the loss of a contract with a major fashion retailer in the UK.
Fakenham, Norfolk haulier Jack Richards & Son has reported a 56% rise in pre-tax profit, and £2.3m rise in turnover, for the year ending 31 May 2012.
