The monthly update on freight traffic flows around the UK from Transport Exchange Group shows that in October 2015 movements from Scotland to London/SE of England were up 18% compared with October 2014, while flow from London/SE to the Midlands were up 13%. "export" from the SW to the Midlands were down 17% on last year.
These figures are based on 5.9m member load miles for October and corrected for the overall Transport Exchange annual growth rate of 21%.
Looking at the numbers in more detail, loads carried by 12 tonne trucks were up 5%, LWB vans were up 6% while 7.5 tonners were down 7%.
