DHL Supply Chain is set to create over 100 transport and warehousing jobs after extending its contract with bathroom retailer Bathstore for another five years. Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has picked up a new European warehousing and distribution deal with cable company Liberty Global. ND will establish Liberty’s European DC in Venray, the Netherlands, along with a number of regional DCs, the first of which opened last month in Switzerland. The agreement builds on an existing partnership ND has with UPC, Liberty’s European division, in the Netherlands. Two-man delivery firm Panther has invested £1m in new vehicles and premises to handle increased demand from new contracts. As a result from changing its model from general haulage to next day two-man delivery in 2010, it has attracted£9m in new business this year, including homeware retailers such as Bathstore, TC office furniture and Worldstores.
