Scottish haulier The Real McKay has taken delivery of six new tri-axle Gray & Adams trailers fitted with Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1350 fridge unit – the lightest refrigeration system in the Vector range. Midlands courier company Burton Sameday has become one of the first customers for Burnt Tree’s new refrigerated vehicle rental service Refrigerental. Half of Sameday Burton’s fleet is now temperature controlled and it has taken a new refrigerated vehicle from Burnt Tree on a two year rental deal after earlier switching some of its ambient dry freight vehicles to the leading independent truck and van rental specialist. A second identical vehicle is due to join the fleet soon.
Temperature controlled storage and transport firm Reed Boardall has been named Fresh and Frozen Foods Haulier of the Year by retailer Tesco. The firm, which operates from a 142,000 pallet capacity cold store in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire and runs 160 refrigerated trucks, won the award for a combination of good service and the use of high-capacity double-deck reefer trailers.
