Wincanton’s new group finance director, Tim Lawlor, has assumed his new role as of today, after it was announced that he’d secured the job in early July. He replaces Adrian Colman, who was appointed as chief executive when Eric Born said he would be leaving the business. Lawlor was formerly the director of finance and strategy at the Serco Group. Tesco is to close two of its distribution centres in the UK, bringing all warehouse operations carried out by DHL Supply Chain and Wincanton in-house, as part of a long-term plan to “simplify” its distribution operations.
