DHL has taken over transport and distribution from Wincanton for the former Morrisons convenience store estate. The 140 M Local stores were sold at a £30m loss to entrepreneur Mike Greene, who insisted the new stores, rebranded as My Local, will succeed where Morrisons’ failed. Morrisons has been using a variety of vehicles supplied by Burnt Tree’s temperature-controlled rental business Refrigerental to support the opening of its M Local convenience stores.
The GMB union has held a protest outside a Marks and Spencer retail store over the rates of pay awarded to agency staff at the retailer’s Swindon DC, which was operated until January by Wincanton and is now run by DHL Supply Chain.
