Turkey farmer and supplier Bernard Matthews has renewed its storage and distribution contract with XPO Logistics for a further three years.

Under the terms of the contract, XPO manages the food company’s national frozen storage facility and product distribution.

Additionally, the operator handles seasonal fresh and frozen storage and distribution of Christmas turkeys; a time-sensitive operation with “fast production to deliver time scales”.

XPO originally won the contract back in 2012, when it was operating under the Norbert Dentressangle name.

George Youngs, Bernard Matthews’ general manager  of agriculture (operations and logistics) said: “XPO Logistics has more than justified our decision to work with them over the last three years – they’ve done everything they said they would, and more.

“The ability and attitude of their team is both a credit to them and an asset to us, and we look forward to continuing our good work with them over the next three years.”
