Hoyer has selected Goodyear as its new tyre provider, ending a relationship with Michelin that began 18 years ago. The bulk liquid distribution giant will fit its 400 units and 780 trailers in the UK, as well as 4,000 trucks and trailers across Europe, with KMax, FuelMax and Goodyear retreaded products. Hoyer Petrolog has finished taking delivery of 253 Euro-5 MAN and Scania units, as part of an £8m upgrade to its petroleum, bitumen and fuel oils fleets that began last year.
Goodyear Dunlop has “hit on a winning formula” for its premium Goodyear brand truck tyres with the FuelMax low rolling resistance range and the KMax high mileage range, according to commercial director Marc Preedy.
Hoyer says 2012, and the medium term future, will be a “challenging period” as the bulk liquid giant reported a 6.8% fall in pre-tax profit to £3.5m for the year ending 31 December 2011 (2010: £3.8m).
