Acumen Automotive Logistics adds four Auriga Deluxe trailers to fleet

Acumen Automotive Logistics has bought four new Rolfo Auriga Deluxe enclosed semi-trailers as part of its strategy to refresh its entire 15-strong enclosed transporter fleet.

The UK-based finished vehicle transporter first announced its fleet replacement strategy last December after its acquisition of Stobart Group’s enclosed transport subsidiary Enable.

Acumen said the new transporter and tractor unit combinations cost around £200,000 each and are capable of transporting six 5m-long cars at a time. They feature low-deck rigid vehicle and tail-lifts for uploading a diverse range of cars, as well as climate control for use in moving high-value vehicles.

A further Rolfo trailer is also on order, with the remainder of the enclosed transporter fleet undergoing a complete refurbishment, including replacement tractor units.

Peter Raybould, director of Acumen Automotive Logistics, said: “As a result of this investment, we are building on the strength of our offering by providing even greater efficiencies and diversity to best serve the specialist needs of our customers.”

The company is also planning to invest in its open transporter fleet this year, with six new transporters due to join the ranks this year.
