Leicester-based packaged chemicals logistics provider HW Coates Holdings has declared another rise in turnover for its last financial year but a significant decline in profits. In the year to 31 December, the group – which includes haulage and warehousing firm HW Coates, a majority stake in The Hazchem Network, and recently acquired document storage specialist Whitefoot Forward – raised overall turnover by 7% to £40.49m (2013: £37.84m). Regulatory approval for the multi-billion euro UPS and TNT Express merger is dependent on whether the new company would be challenged enough by its competitors, the European Commission has said.
