A glass manufacturer is celebrating 25 years of business with vehicle rental company Ryder Scotland by taking delivery of two new trucks.

Independent Glass, which has three Glasgow depots and one in Mansfield, has marked the occasion by taking on two new Daf XF460s featuring Space Cabs. They join a fleet of 21 specialist glass-carrying vehicles, all previously supplied via Ryder.

George McCallum, Independent Glass’s group transport manager, said: “We are one of the UK’s largest independent toughened and laminated glass manufacturers and merchants.

"Our customers are spread throughout the UK and require regular, reliable deliveries, so it’s important that we have a modern, well-maintained fleet always ready for work.  Ryder has always exceeded our customer service expectations, which is why we’ve partnered with them for the past 25 years.”

Ryder’s sales and marketing director, Robin White, added: “Scotland has always been a successful marketplace for Ryder where our industry-leading customer service has helped us retain contract hire customers for many years. We are proud of our 25-year partnership with Independent Glass and look forward to helping them continue to maximize uptime and meet their customer delivery needs for another 25.”
