Northern-Ireland rental and leasing firm Hireco has bought 400 new trailers from SDC for £8m, adding the assets to £4.6m of trailers it has purchased from Krone, Schmitz Cargobull and Dennison.
The order from SDC comprises 380 curtain-sided trailers and 20 box vans. The first delivery took place in April and will run through to September. The company has also bought £3.5m of skeletal trailers from Dennison, 20 box vans from Krone and £700,000 fridge trailers from Schmitz Cargobull.
Hireco director Tony Wan (pictured) said: “The major order indicates the confidence we have in the UK’s transport and logistics industry with 1,100 new vehicles being added to the fleet last year, and an initial 600 this year. We hope to make further announcements in the next few months, as these are exciting times for the business. Continually investing in our fleet allows us to offer a high standard of service to our customers and be competitive in the equipment rental industry.”
Last month Hireco entered the truck rental and contract hire sector.
