In the weeks leading up to its collapse, Deben Transport attempted to make changes to its depot network as it battled to stay afloat.
A list of newly published applications and decisions via The Office of the Traffic Commissioner, shows that in the weeks leading up to its demise, Deben had applied to remove its operating centre at Hams Hall Distribution Park in Coleshill, Birmingham, where it had an O-licence to turn up to 12 trucks and 12 trailers.
At the same time it applied to increase its O-licence allocation at its Hall End Business Park operating centre, in Tamworth, from up to 22 trucks and 22 trailers to up to 40 of each.
Last week the company’s administrator, Ensors, revealed more than 200 jobs had been lost at the container specialist despite recent cost-cutting measures put in place to keep the business trading.
The Hub, Motortransport.co.uk’s business blog, recently took a closer look at some of Deben Transport’s fillings at Companies House, which revealed its MD and finance director had stepped down from the board of the company in March of this year.
