Pall-Ex has welcomed a trio of new network members off the back of its promise to support hauliers affected by the upcoming closure of UK Pallets.
Bristol’s IC Express, South Link of West Sussex and Ipswich-based Magnus Group join the network as part of its deal struck with UK Pallets, which saw it become the "network of choice" for both customers and hauliers of the failed business in January.
The new arrivals follow Kenneth Howley Transport, which became the first haulier to move over to the Pall-Ex network last month as part of the arrangement.
IC Express, which has 25 vehicles, will cover the BS postcode area, while the Magnus Group, which has a fleet of 71, will cover the IP, CM and CO regions. South Link will take responsibility for a selection of BN postcode areas for Pall-Ex.
Ian Crook, MD of IC Express, said that the company had made the move because “whilst many networks are remaining stagnant”, they believe Pall-Ex is “bucking that trend”.
“We have a reputation as Bristol’s leading logistics provider and Pall-Ex is well placed to not only maintain, but also improve that image,” Crook said.
Kevin Parker, MD of the Magnus Group, said: “There’s a definite synergy in the core values of the network and our own business. I feel we at Magnus are also forward thinking and keen to grasp development at every opportunity.
"It quickly became obvious that both parties are driven by results and both want excellence to be synonymous with their brand name.”
