Supermarket chain Tesco has appointed former Exel Logistics chief John Allan as its new chairman. Allan will replace Richard Broadbent following his decision to step down from the post on 1 March. Allan was CEO of Ocean Group in the 1990s and then of Exel when Ocean merged with NFC in 2000. DHL has won a nationwide vehicle distribution contract with car dealership Vindis Group. The new contract will see DHL’s vehicle distribution arm Inside Track handle over 4,000 movements of new and demonstrator vehicles per year from Vindis’ site in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire, while the majority of the deliveries will take place in the East of England.
