The entry deadline for the the 2015 FTA Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards has been extended until the 9 Febraury.

Now in its eighth year, the awards recognise remarkable women in transport and logistics, and in doing so aim to encourage more women to consider a career in the sector.

Everywoman and the FTA are calling for organisations, HR leaders and individuals in the industry to nominate colleagues or peers who are making a difference in their organisation now (self nominations are also encouraged).

June Powell, FTA director of compliance management, who is on this year’s awards judging panel, said: “The FTA everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards are the perfect opportunity to showcase how women can make a career in transport a successful and fulfilling one.

"We hope that they will continue to uncover inspirational role models, improve the image of the industry, and demonstrate that the support and development of female talent is taken seriously within the sector.”

Former award-winners include fleet planning engineers, warehouse operatives, directors, drivers and site managers, from large organisations such as DHL, Asda and Tesco through to small and medium enterprises.

The awards continue to raise the profile of winners and their organisations, Jane Curl-Cater, 2014 Woman of the Year and DHL Tradeteam site manager said: "Winning the award has enhanced my profile, resulting in recognition from my company, receiving invitations to forums, events and functions where I have met some amazing and inspirational people.”
