Leeds-based Palletways member Walkers Transport has said it expects to show an 8% year-on-year increase in combined group turnover to £17m for calendar year 2014.

The haulier said its Leeds depot, which has acted as the northern hub for Palletways since 2012, is now processing 3,500 pallets a night. Previously those pallets were processed at Palletways’ Litchfield hub.

The company comprises of three businesses: George Walker Transport; Palletways Manchester and Northern Hub.

While figures for 2014 are yet to be filed at Companies House George Walker Transport had flat turnover of £10m for the year-ending 31 December 2013 and a pre-tax profit of £258,474 (2012: £142,558). Palletways Manchester and Northern Hub both filed abbreviated accounts for the same financial year.
