UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) chief executive Roger Williams is to hand over the reins later this month to his successor, Peter Ward (pictured), following 15 years at the organisation. Dairy Crest has renewed its distribution contract with Wincanton for a further three years, extending the partnership between the two organisations beyond its 25th year.
Charity Transaid has appointed TfL commissioner Sir Peter Hendy as a trustee as it seeks to expand the scope of its international work.
Wincanton has won a five year contract with Rolls-Royce, which will see it store and transport generators for the UK armed forces. The firm will store the generators, which are used to power medical and communications equipment, at its shared user warehouse in Middleton, Greater Manchester. It will also pack the generators for global distribution.
