Mobile elevated-platform supplier Lavendon Group has outsourced its in-house delivery and collection operation to Wincanton. The five-year deal will begin in January and will see the 3PL collect products from Lavendon’s 26 storage sites and deliver them to customers across the UK. Wincanton will make 200,000 deliveries a year using a fleet of 124 vehicles. Ceva Logistics has signed a new warehousing and distribution contract with Continental worth more than $50m (£33m).
Adjusted EBITDA at Ceva Logistics doubled to $80m (£51.6m) during the second quarter of 2013 as it continues to restructure its balance sheet and experience more growth in the UK.
John Lewis has awarded a three year contract to Hermes, which will see the parcel carrier handle 48-hour home deliveries for parcels under 15kg. Parcels will be collected from the retailer’s regional depots six days per week and delivered to Hermes’ national hub in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, where they will be sorted.
