Ceva Logistics has invested $20m (£12.4m) in boosting its fleet of trucks and trailers in the UK. The vehicles, comprising 120 Euro-5 MAN TGS 6×2 units (pictured) and 40 Euro-5 MAN TGM 4×2 curtainsided rigids with day cabs, have been taken under derogation. They will have all entered operation by the end of the year, alongside 180 Lawrence David trailers. Ceva Logistics has postponed its proposed float on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as it looks to restructure its balance sheet and stem its shrinking profits.
Ceva has won a three year distribution contract with shoe retailer Macintosh Retail Group, delivering for its Brantano and Jones Bootmaker stores.
Ceva has singled out the performance of its business in the UK for having a “very strong year” in 2011 after the Netherlands-based logistics giant revealed a 10% rise in profit.
