Ceva Logistics has invested $20m (£12.4m) in boosting its fleet of trucks and trailers in the UK. The vehicles, comprising 120 Euro-5 MAN TGS 6×2 units (pictured) and 40 Euro-5 MAN TGM 4×2 curtainsided rigids with day cabs, have been taken under derogation. Ceva Logistics has signed a €16.9m contract renewal with canned fish manufacturer John West, following a successful five-year relationship. The Leicestershire-based logistics firm will continue to provide UK supply chain operations, including collecting cleared cargo from the port of Felixstowe for onward transportation to Ceva’s’s shared-user facility in Mendlesham. Ceva Logistics has won a five-year contract to provide a two-man home delivery service for bed manufacturer Silentnight Group. Under the deal, Ceva’s specialist home delivery unit, Ceva Home, will make over 70,000 deliveries a year, collecting mattresses and divan bases from two manufacturing sites in Lancashire and Cumbria and delivering direct to customers six days a week on behalf of national retailers.
