The acquisition of administration-hit Elite Transport Services pushed Deben Transport into the red last year. The Felixstowe-based container haulier posted a £668,135 pre-tax loss in 2013, its annual accounts to 31 December show. This followed a £63,568 pre-tax profit the year before. DHL Express completed the sale of its same-day domestic business to Rico Logistics last week.
Felixstowe-based container haulier Deben Transport has acquired fellow container specialist Elite Transport Services out of administration.
Ripon-based Potter Group Logistics has bought York logistics firm and Palletline member House of James for an undisclosed sum. The deal, struck yesterday (16 May) boosts Potter’s turnover by 50% to £22m, adding 100,000ft² of warehousing space, 35 vehicles and 55 trailers to the fleet.
