The acquisition of administration-hit Elite Transport Services pushed Deben Transport into the red last year. The Felixstowe-based container haulier posted a £668,135 pre-tax loss in 2013, its annual accounts to 31 December show. This followed a £63,568 pre-tax profit the year before. Container haulier Pentalver Cannock said a rise in turnover and pre-tax profit during 2017 was essentially down to the continuing improvement in trading conditions since the economic downturn.
Parcel delivery network APC Overnight made a £4.42m pre-tax profit last year, a 30.4% increase on the previous year’s figures. Turnover for the year ended 31 March 2012 rose 13.5% to £65.7m (2010/11: £57.9m) as a result of increased customer demand.
